Emptiness and Darkness

There are times
I feel so empty
when I look inside.

I think of you
only to realize
I feel so sad,
I still feel nothing.

Then sorrow,
and when I get closer,
I see the darkness
I so despise.

Emptiness is a gift
when having seen
the abyss in your eyes,
I fear the dark no more.
